Y-branch

For Clothing

Y-branch is a tool for those who like the action of making their own objects. When the Y-branch is connected to a wooden branch they create a unique structure. The shape is given by the particular peculiarity of the wooden branch as by the creativity of the person who connects the branches. World wide, people are increasingly becoming aware of the limitation of natural resources and understand better the value of local production. Wooden branches are structurally strong while flexible. This poorly used local material is worth our attention. Y-branch, which is made of stainless steel, supports the use of this resource.

Wood you? is a series of projects made by final year students in the product design department of Iceland Academy of the Arts. The projects focuses on using Icelandic wood and each project derives from the students experience in the forest. They engage the user and give him a new perspective on ordinary objects, actions and surroundings.

All projects from the WOOD YOU? collection.
